Man sets up romantic candlelight atmosphere for beach date, only for two tiny crabs to steal his spotlight and his candles (Video)

You probably don't think of crabs as mischievous little creatures, but this video might change your mind! It shows two crabs ruining a guy's romantic candlelight date on the beach by not only becoming the main event, but stealing his candles as well. The crabolution has begun!

It's not just humans you have to worry about ruining your moment on the beach anymore, now you've got crabs to worry about. No, not that kind, the kind that live in the sand and go pinch-pinch-ow if you accidentally step on them. The guy in our video had everything planned out and set up. A romantic date for two with cute electronic candles to set the mood and make the evening perfectly charming. That was, until two crabs took an interest in his set up and decided that those candles might look better in their home.

Bewildered by what he was seeing, he simply sat there and filmed the two crabs sneak up and start literally stealing the candles. Entranced by the fire that illuminated but did not burn, they kept coming back for more. It's something that even we, as seasoned writers at Animal Comedy, have never seen before. The full video is strangely entrancing, watching them experience this is like watching a puppy be mesmerized by a lava lamp.

Crabs aren't known to have a lot of personality, but that all seems to be changing now. So if you want to plan a picturesque beach date in the near future, you had better bring some spare candles to offer the crabs, or just skip them altogether. The choice is yours!

We didn't have this on our bingo card this year, but if we've learned anything over the past couple of years, it's to expect the unexpected. And in the grand scheme of things, we much rather prefer to have “crabs stealing candles” on our bingo cards than some of the other bonkers world events that have taken place. What if this is the beginning of the evolution of crabs? Where will they go from here? Will they form a government? Go into space? Only time will tell.

Imagine what this crab must be thinking right now - it's like a mini sun that isn't hot, but gives off a lot of light. Everything that is bright to this crab must mean hot, as the closer it gets to the sun, the warmer it gets. And suddenly, there is something bright that is not very hot, even cool enough to touch. This might be a first in the history of the crab species.
